Responsible and sustainable action has been a top priority at VIU ever since our founding in 2013. With our VIU RE initiative, we are sending a clear signal for conscious consumption and sustainable change in the eyewear industry – and we are actively working to continuously improve, especially in terms of sustainability.
Our collections consist of selected models. They are convincing thanks to a perfect symbiosis of design and function. The high quality of our products is always in the foreground – with the goal of creating the best possible products from the smallest volume of materials.
We are constantly working to further develop our products and to find innovative, more sustainable solutions for even longer-lasting products that uphold our quality standards. The 3D-printed glasses in our Archetypes collection are only the first step towards a thriftier use of precious resources.
“Innovation is deeply embedded in our DNA. We are constantly searching for new solutions and materials – with the focus on manufacturing even more sustainable products.”
Fabrice Aeberhard, Co-founder & Creative Director
All our eyewear is made from the highest quality materials to guarantee a long life. With the new RE Collection made from the innovative Acetate Renew, we are taking the first step towards an even more responsible future. By 2025, we will convert our entire acetate collection to this sustainable material – which consists of 96% sustainable components.
The longevity of our products is only one aspect of responsible action. That’s why we constantly work with our partners to develop innovative solutions for enhanced circularity. As a partner of the “Shades of Love” initiative, we give eyewear a second life, thus lengthening its lifecycle even further. Currently, our customers from Germany and Austria can get involved.
“Responsible in every point of VIU and beyond – we are proud of everything we have achieved since VIU was founded. And we are looking forward to the future as we actively contribute toward making our industry progressively more sustainable”
Kilian Wagner, CEO & Co-founder
