Hello Production

Sustainable steps for quality that lasts.

There’s more to high quality than just a careful, clever design. VIU glasses are always made by just the right specialists and with just the right materials.

We know we can trust our production partners because we’ve been working with them for years.

From the first sketch to the finished product: our eyewear is designed at our design lab in Zurich. Our frames are handmade at carefully selected factories in Europe, Japan and South Korea and sold in our VIU stores and our online shop. Our distribution channel is direct, our production processes are transparent and our commitment to sustainability is strong.

Acetate & Acetate Renew (Italy)

It takes over 80 separate steps to create a pair of our acetate and Acetate Renew glasses. VIU acetate glasses are produced at our partner factories in northern Italy (FIO, Luxol, M1), where no detail goes unnoticed. The synthetic material derived from cellulose is lightweight, durable and versatile.

Acetate Renew is made from certified recycled plastics, sustainable cellulose and organic plasticisers. That makes it 96% sustainable but with all the functionality and quality of standard acetate.

Titanium & Beta-Titanium (Japan & South Korea)

Japan and South Korea are known for their titanium and have the exceptional production facilities to match, so that’s exactly where we make our frames in this premium raw material. This helps us keep our quality high and our supply chain short. Over 200 steps have to be taken to craft our lightweight yet durable titanium frames. The finished products look good and feel good – and they’re hypoallergenic.

Beta titanium is on another level, accentuating the flexibility, comfort and light weight of standard titanium. These properties allow it to be worked with even more precision to create extremely thin frames that are unbelievably comfy.

3D printing (Poland/Belgium)

We’re taking innovative action by working closely with one of the global leaders in 3D printing. Our 3D-printed frames reflect our commitment to sustainability. They are made from ultra-light polyamide dust, which is layered up to achieve impressive durability and flexibility. No wonder our glasses are as unique as the people that wear them.
